Monday 20th October 2003 - Eve of my flight
Preparing for the flight
After these e-mails I saw e-mails from job agencies and companies I’d applied in September 2003 on spec for work, for the time being ignored all these e-mails (as I reckoned they where the usual “reject“ letter e-mails). I didn’t want any bad luck from them spoiling my happiness and the good fortune of my flight so at the time I didn’t look at them......While I was on the internet I again checked ConcordeSST and then started to wined down before trying to get some sleep.
I went to sleep at around 11.35pm (as I knew I had a long day head of me and I knew I needed to get as much sleep as I could) but due the excitement of tomorrow I just couldn’t sleep, I was like kid on Christmas eve who couldn’t wait for Father Christmas and Christmas day to come, but I knew I had to get some sleep so some how I forced my eyes shut and forced my self to sleep.
On Concorde SST Sparky started the following thread about me
I didn’t have time to check the thread as my main priority was to try and get as much sleep as I could for the long day a head so after I replied to Jez I didn’t log on to ConcordeSST until I got up in morning.
From 3rd to the 21st October 2003 countless things happened so so fast that I didn't really have time to understand what was going on.
I tried to live a normal life but knowing I had a Concorde ticket in my hand, knowing that I was really going to fly on one of the Concordes I still watched day in day out and chased around Heathrow made me feel like I was in dream world where nothing could ever hurt me and no matter what the weather was like in my heart it was now always warm and sunny with blue skies as I knew I was flying on Concorde……I was flying on Concorde..... Yipeeeeee, yahoooooooooooo :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D ...... I was on cloud 9 :-)
Overall I was extremely happy, I forgot about all my worries and for the first time in god knows how many years I finally started to relax and have fun, but when I had the spare time I still job hunted as I needed a job.
Although I had my dream ticket safely tucked away at home I still didn't really believe it was going to happen....... In the back of my mind I partly thought PC Plod (Heathrow Police) where going to come round and take the ticket away from me (as in summer 2003 some of those guys had been very nasty to me.)
